Review: Instant Pot IP-DUO60 Programmable Pressure Cooker
Cooking great meals for my family has always been a challenge because we are always running from one location to the next. This seemed to be a problem for many of my friends as well. They all told me that they utilized crock pots in order to prepare their meals. However, I was never really sure how to make this work for me. My family loves rice and we eat it with just about every meal. I thought a rice cooker may make things easier for me but I did not want a crock pot and a rice cooker. After all, who wants to clean all of those appliances and who wants them all over the counter. That is when I found the Instant Pot. It was a rice cooker and crock pot in one.
I was hesitant about purchasing this because of the price but I was really pleased that I went for it once I used it. Let me tell you why I gave this a 5 out of 5 on the rating scale. First off, cleaning is a breeze because it is stainless steel. It has three cooking temperatures so that you can steam and slow cook if you want. This cooker also has an automatic warmer. Of course, these are just a few of the benefits but once you use it you will see how great it is.
Pros:
- Multiple cooking options
- Stainless steel
- Can be used as a pressure cooker
- 14 built in smart programs
Cons:
- May take longer than a traditional pressure cooker
- Recipe book leaves a lot to be desired
There are some people that have complained about the recipe book that has come with this cooker. However, I have found that the internet is a great place to find recipes. The simple fact that there are programmable programs makes using this product very easy. My family has been eating healthy, home cooked meals since I purchased it. I love the fact that I do not have to have multiple appliances on the counter and I can basically make an entire meal in one pot. I have not really tried to use it as a pressure cooker and some people have complained about that as well. In the end, if you are planning to use it for home cooked meals and rice then this is the way to go. You will find it very easy to operate and the meals are tasty. That is why I have given it a 5.
You may be able to find another rice cooker that will work extremely well as a pressure cooker but it will most likely cost you a great deal more. When you consider the price of this product you may be hesitant until you see what it can do for you. I have never been happier with an appliance purchase and I have even found that I have a lot less clean up at the end of a meal. This is definitely an option for parents and families on the go.
